Jeju Island - Olle 제주 올레

"Jeju Olle" was convinced by Suh, Myung-Sook 서명숙, a mainland Korean woman who trekked through rural pathways in Europe on an 800-km pilgrimage trail. After her long journey, she felt that similar things also existed in jeju, especially with the traditional rural  "Olle" path, which refer to the alleyway spaces between the rock walls of jeju.



Since 2007, various walking courses that wind around island were established with the objectves of allowing people to escape from the busy urban bustle that characterizes much of modern Korea.

Course 3: Onpyeong to Pyoseon
Course 4: Pyoseon to Namwon
Course 5: Namwon to Seosokkak
Course 6: Seosokkak to Oedolgae
Course 7: Oedolgae to Wolpyeong
Course 7-1: Seogwipo World Cup Stadium to Oedolgae
Course 8: Wolpyeong to Daepyeong
Course 9: Daepyeong to Hwasun Beach
Course 10: Hwasun Beach to Moseulpo
Course 10-1: Gapado Island
Course 11: Moseulpo to Mureung 2-ri
Course 12: Mureung 2-ri to Yongsu Pogu
Course 13: Yongsu Pogu to Jeoji Village Hall
Course 14: Jeoji Village Hall to Hallim Harbor
Course 14-1: Jeoji Village Hall to Mureung Environmental School
Course 15: Hallim Harbor to Gonae Pogu
Course 16: Gonae Pogu to Gwangneyong 1-ri Office

Through very recent, the Olle Trails' popularity has been an important tourist phenomenon in Jeju, as they not only attract tourists from all over, but also win through spectacular localities along the Jeju coastline. Since May of 2011, around twenty olle courses have been designated.
